History
    1980:    Gateway School begins its service to the community as a tutorial program on
                      John T. White Rd. in east Ft.Worth.
    1981:    Academic Achievement Center Inc., dba Gateway School, chartered as a full day school.
    1985:    Gateway School earns accreditation for its elementary and high school divisions by the  
                      Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
    1995:    Gateway School maintains its accreditation for a decade.
    1996:    Gateway School moves the operation to 1601 Ivy Lane in Arlington, in Arlington.
    1998:    Gateway School receives approximately 7.5 acres on Green Oaks Blvd in Arlington.
    2002:    Construction begins on 11,000 square foot facility.
    2003:    Classes begin at new campus, which can accomodate 80 students.
    2009:    Gateway School passes an accreditation review by SACS.
    2010:    Gateway School marks it 30th year of operation.

    Gateway School is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-sectarian organization governed by a
    Board of Trustees. The school receives ongoing support from foundations, corporations, and
    individuals in the community to provide this quality education for students and families.
Goals
    * To be an advocate for the special needs of students and adults with learning disorders through providing
                   information and resources throughout the community.
    * To prepare students to become productive, participating citizens.
    * To help each student realize his or her potential.
    * To operate Gateway School in a fiscally sound manner which will support program goals and objectives.
    * To provide a setting for on-going professional development with area universities, schools, and programs.
    * To increase community awareness of the purpose and programs of Gateway School.
Gateway School is a private 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing an appropriate education in
a nurturing environment to individuals with learning disorders and/or attention deficit. It is our commitment to
promote awareness and advocacy with information and resources throughout the community.
*Gateway School is a non-profit organization designed for the student who has average or
above-average intelligence but is challenged in academic and social areas.
* Gateway School is an accredited non-profit, private, secondary school working with
adolescents and young adults in the greater Tarrant County area.
* The Gateway staff supports students to recognize their potential by encouraging them to
think creatively, develop their imagination, and strengthen their decision making skills.
* The curriculum utilizes a multi-sensory, integrated approach designed to emphasize
academic success, organizational and social skills, and responsibility.
* Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Gateway School
awards a diploma upon fulfillment of graduation requirements. Credits are transferable to
other schools.
