| Gateway School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities accorded or made available at the School. Gateway School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and school administered programs. Enrollment Process The enrollment process involves the following steps: 1. Personal Interview: This visit will introduce you to the Gateway School. 2. Completion and Submission of Records: Application, non-refundable application fee, health information form, release of information authorization, past and present school transcripts, current record of immunization, and a recent (within three years) educational evaluation must be submitted. 3. Visitation: Applicants have the opportunity to schedule an appointment for the student and/or his parents to visit classes in session. 4. Acceptance: When all information has been returned and compiled, a decision will be made as to whether or not the prospective student meets the enrollment criteria for the probationary acceptance to the Gateway program. The probationary period will include six weeks of attendance from the time of enrollment. Upon acceptance to the probationary period, parents will be expected to sign a Tuition Payment Contract and pay the required enrollment fee. Tuition will be prorated and refunded if, during the probationary period, the Gateway staff or the student's parents determine that the placement is inappropriate. Timetable Gateway School welcomes students at any time during the school year as long as there are available openings. Generally, applications for the upcoming year are available any time after January 1st. After the prospective student's family has initiated contact with the school, a complete interview is scheduled, including a tour of the facility, observing a class, and meeting with the faculty. The application forms must be completed and should be accompanied by a $150 application fee, psychological and educational testing results, transcripts, and medical records. Regarding acceptance, parents are formally notified by letter, in person, or by phone. Upon acceptance, a $500 non-refundable deposit that applies toward the cost of tuition must be submitted to reserve a slot for the student. If enrollment is full, the student's name will be placed on a waiting list. Contact us for current tuition cost. Limited financial aid is available and families may request a financial aid application form. Testing For students in need of the required educational assessments for acceptance, Gateway School will schedule appointments for testing upon request. The application for the testing must be completed by the parents. Contact us for the current cost of the testing service. Forms The necessary forms for the application process are available online, or at the Gateway School office. Forms should be filled out prior to step #2 of the admissions process (the completion and submission of records). Print and complete each from and return the forms to Gateway School on your introductory visit. The files listed under INFO are for your information; they do not need to be completed. |
