COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS

Gateway School students are required to participate in a minimum of eighteen (18) community
service hours per each academic year of enrollment. Opportunities will be provided throughout
each year for completion of some of these hours, and others will need to be completed
independent of the school program. Documentation of hours completed independent of the
school must be submitted with the signature of a non-profit agency's supervisor.  Local
non-profit agencies include:  hospitals, churches, nursing homes, Meals on Wheels, Tarrant
County Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Presbyterian Night Shelter, River Legacy Park, and
Mission Arlington.

Community Service hours will be recorded on the report cards for each six - weeks grading
period. This requirement must be completed to fulfill graduation requirements along with all
academic and elective requirements as they are defined.
